Bondurant, IADoris Marie (Ingle) Gaulke, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 7, 2012. She was born in Newton, Iowa to Goldie and Osie Belle (Freel) Ingle. She grew up in the Ivy/Runnells area and graduated from East High, Class of 1951. She met Leo Junior Gaulke and they married in 1955, living in the Ankeny/Bondurant area for their entire marriage.
Doris worked at Alber Loan Company, Eastman Kodak, and Independent Abstract. She retired from the State of Iowa in 1998.
Doris enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and traveling around visiting family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Leo Junior Gaulke, her children Kevin and Sandi Gaulke of Bondurant, Connie Hensley and Steve Phillips of Sheldahl, Cindy and Doug Rooney, of Jacksonville, Florida, Kirk Gaulke of Bondurant, and Kathy Steeples and Tom Dozler of Ankeny, as well as 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Max Ingle of Altoona, Norman and Jan Ingle of Runnells and sisters Velma Blake of Schaller, Juanita Watts of Crowley, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with many long-time friends who were very special to her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 4 to 8 p.m. at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, 4208 N Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, at Grandview Church of Christ, 2736 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
