Sandra Weesner, who always looked as if she had just stepped off the cover of Vogue, passed away on July 16 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Affectionately known as "Nana" by many children, Sandra was a loving and vibrant soul. She found joy in watching old TV shows like *Perry Mason*, *Murder She Wrote*, *Little House on the Prairie*, and *The Waltons*. Her family would lovingly tease her about her love for these classics.
Sandra's faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of Saint Boniface Church in Waukee since 1973, she never missed a mass, even braving snowstorms to attend. Her welcoming spirit shone through in her joy of having visitors drop by her house for a chat or a cup of coffee. Her little dog, Sadie, was her constant companion and the light of her life.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Jack Weesner; her father, Michael Donald Conway; her mother, Catherine Callahan Conway; and her brothers, Dick Conway and Bobby Conway.
Sandra leaves behind her beloved daughters, Robin (Jeff) Spear and Mary Neyens (David); her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Spear, Joshua Spear, Kullen Neyens, Kaitlyn Neyens Mayer (husband Jordan), Faith Haroldson Donovan, McKenzie Haroldson, Alexis Haroldson, Paisley Haroldson, and Remington Haroldson; her precious great-grandchildren, Hazel Mayer, Teagan Donovan, and Tilly Donovan; and two great-grandnieces, Gwendolyn Charlton and Cordelia Conway. She is also survived by her three loving sisters, Bernadine Judge, Marilyn Roach, and Barbara Crowell; her two dear brothers, Jerry and Brian Conway; Stacey Mercer and Berniece Haroldson, who claimed Sandra as another mother; and too many nephews and nieces to count.
A celebration of Sandra's life will be held on August 9 at the Waukee Community Center from 4:30 to 10 PM. There will be music, beverages, and food as we gather to honor her memory.
Sandra's legacy of love, faith, and warmth will be forever cherished by all who were blessed to know her.
