Robert L. Martin passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Fountain West Care Center in West Des Moines with loved ones at his side.
Bob was born on January 21, 1922 in Fort Dodge Iowa to Claude and Daisy (Skuldt) Martin. He married Mary (Larsen) Martin on April 21, 1946 in Fort Dodge. They had 4 children; Linda Fosgate of Mankato, MN, Judy (Paul) Proksa of Pleasant Hill, IA, Phil Martin of St. Paul, MN and Paul Martin of Mound, MN. Bob served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in England and Guam. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Minnesota as an engineer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen and loving wife, Mary and is survived by his 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
