James "Jim" W. Rooker, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Cremation will take place and a Private Service will be held at Ankeny Funeral Home.
Jim was born October 12, 1935 to Kenneth and Vivian Rooker in Des Moines. He married Beverly McConkey January 8, 1966. Jim worked as a photo engraver for the Des Moines Register for 30 years, owned and operated Security Unlimited, and managed Maplewood Village for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Rooker of Ankeny; sons, Jimmy (Sherri) Rooker of Des Moines and Jeff Rooker of CA; step sons, Carl (Janice) Brandt of Des Moines, Jeff (Randi Ryan) Brandt of Des Moines, and Chris (Carol) Brandt of Waukee; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Rooker and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used for charity at a later date in Jim's memory.
