Harvey, June 5. – W. L. McLaughlin died at his home in Des Moines, Wednesday, May 31. He had suffered for some time with Bright’s disease and other complications. Funeral services at Lilly’s undertaking parlors, Friday, were attended by his immediate family, consisting of wife, son Harold, and daughter Ruby; one daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Stella Berry, of Mapleton, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. J. A. Wilson, and husband of Harvey; and numerous relatives and friends. The pall-bearers were business friends. Interment at Glenwood.
Mr. McLaughlin passed his early life in this vicinity, being in business with his father for a number of years. Since leaving here he has been a promoter in various engineering projects, also an inventor, having patents on a number of articles, among them the McLaughlin coal atomizer.
