Cynthia (Cyndee) Sue Ward age 71 passed away on December 14th, 2021. Cyndee was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1950 to Jean and Robert Ward. She graduated from Plymouth High School in Plymouth, Michigan in 1968. Cyndee made her home in Lawrence, Kansas where she raised her family. She worked for the University of Kansas for over 25 years and retired in 2008. Cyndee was a member of the Naval Reserves, and she was a proud veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War. Cyndee maintained her home in Lawrence and also moved to spend time with her mother Jean B Ward in her hometown of Des Moines during Jean’s last years.

Cyndee had an eclectic set of interests. She enjoyed cooking, embroidery, reading, driving fast cars, making jewelry, and challenging you to a game of Scrabble or cribbage. She loved to travel whether it be a long road trip or a cruise through the Mediterranean.

Cyndee is survived by her two daughters, Tena Jean Dameron and Casey Sue Drake (Ethan); her grandchildren Carson and Tyler; her siblings Steven, Nikki, and Robert Ward Jr.; her niece and nephew Kathryn Robiadek and Robert Ward, as well as many other beloved family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on April 9th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines, Iowa.
