Bernadette P. Leary, 80, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Regency Park in Jefferson, Iowa.

Bernadette was born August 31, 1931 in France to Emile and Elizabeth Pierre.

Bernadette is survived by her sons, Michael Leary of California and Patrice Evrard of France; and her daughter-in-law, Penne Leary of Des Moines and her cousins, Jeanne Marie Byington and Elizabeth Baecher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Leary; and her son, David.

Bernadette enjoyed playing bridge and her dog, Nu Nu.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue league.
