Polk CityDennis L. "Denny" Foshe, 65, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Februay 3, at Iles Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Lincoln Cemetery in Granger, Iowa.
Denny was born on October 1, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to William H. and Virginia R. (Lewellin) Foshe. He was a lifelong resident of Johnston and Polk City. Denny graduated from Johnston High School in 1964 and served four years with the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He worked in the construction industry and enjoyed doing small jobs for family and friends. On December 13, 1980, Denny married Claudia J. (Scoonover) Bendixen in Johnston.
He is survived by his two brothers, William L. Foshe of Clearwater, FL and Kenneth H. (Kimber) Foshe of Johnston; one sister, Marlee D. (Jim) Shinogle of Ankeny; two stepdaughters, Tammy (Jeff) Forrest of Urbandale and Terese Bendixen of Des Moines; three nieces; four nephews; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Denny was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife, Claudia in December of 2005.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, at the funeral home.
