d. 2011
Formerly of Des MoinesPatricia Mary (Hogan) King, 70, died peacefully at home on January 29, after a long illness. She was the eldest child of Daniel and Dolores Hogan of Des Moines.
Patty graduated from St. Joseph Academy, then received a B.S. in Nursing from St. Mary's in Rochester and St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota. She was among the first Peace Corps nurses in Tanzania, where she married Dr. John King. After her return to the states, Pat continued her nursing career in various capacities, and the family settled in Norfolk, Va. She was a force in integrating the local Women's Auxiliary of the AMA, and, additionally, became an accomplished artist.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Dr. John King, and three children, Malaika Albrecht, Brian King, and Lydia Failmezger. Her surviving siblings include Susan Doty of Denver; Barbara Adrianopoli of Hoffman
Estates, Illinois; Kate Delles of Evergreen, Colorado; Tim Hogan of Denver; Jeanne Howlett of Alexandria,
Virginia; Brian Hogan of Bentonville, Arkansas; and T. Coleman Hogan of Des Moines.
