Don White, 85, went peacefully at home to live with the Lord on May 10, 2011.

Don was born on November 8, 1925 to Otto and Mary White. He lived most of his life in Des Moines. For many years he was a truck driver for Gamble-Robinson wholesale and Dave Van Patten Mobile Homes. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II and received an honorable discharge.

He is survived by his loving wife Nida; daughter, Linda Shough; granddaughter, Daylene Stone; grandson, David Tuttle; great grandchildren, Stephanie, Charley, and Levi; great-great grandchild, Cheyenne; brother, Jerald (Jeannie); sister-in-laws, Amy, Mary, Roberta White, Evelyn Osburn; Noami Jackson, Darlene Fitzpatrick, Nancy Fitzpatrick; brother-in-laws, Mike Fitzpatrick and Gene Jackson. Also cherishing memories of Don are nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Dan Shough; brothers; Elmer, Albert, Ernest, Raymond, Milford, and Clifford; sister, Viola Brown; brother-in-laws, Charles Brown and Dr. T.E. Fitzpatrick.

Don's wish was to be cremated and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
