Marilyn Johnson, 80, passed away on January 30, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 1, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Marilyn was born on October 16, 1931, in Spencer, Iowa to Mike and Laura Johnson. She grew up in Gillett Grove and Marathon, Iowa until 1949, when she moved to Des Moines. She graduated from Drake University and worked as a secretary at the Dept. of Agriculture and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for the state of Iowa, retiring after 30 years of service.

Marilyn is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Laura Johnson. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fountain West Health Center for all their care and kindness over the years.
