Anne F. Morton, 97, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Heather Manor. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 4 at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Anne was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and lived in Chariton before moving to Des Moines. She retired in 1976 as the secretary for the State of Iowa Industrial Commissions Department. Anne was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, loved to sew and was a great cook.

She is survived by her son, John T. McFarland, Sr. of Stuart; two stepdaughters, Dolores Morton-Cash of Georgetown, TX, and Mary Morton-Hansen of Highland's Ranch, CO; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Morton on December 20, 1989 and Murray McFarland on February 1, 1965.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Wed 03 Dec 2003.
