Jud B. Vance of Des Moines, aged forty-five years, shot and instantly killed himself in his room at the Savoy hotel in Kansas City. His body was found lying across the bed, a bullet hole behind the right ear and a revolver lying where it had fallen from his right hand. He had been drinking.
