Marieta Massey, 100, of Beaverdale Estates went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Taylor House after a brief illness.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19 at First Church of the Nazarene, of which she was a member, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Marieta was a school teacher before her marriage to Leonard Massey. She then was a homemaker for a number of years before working at Travelers Insurance Company from which she retired.

She is survived by son, Robert (Alice) Massey of Des Moines; daughter, Marilyn (John) Burch of Runnells; grandchildren: Brenda (Kevin) Thompson, Dave Massey, Michele (Rob) Battles and Gary (Tammy) Burch; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard and sister, Erma Hillyard.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.

Marieta was 100 years and seven months old at the time of her death at Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa after a brief illness. She was a school teacher before she married Leonard Massey.
