Marie Paul died peacefully at Arbor Springs Memory Care Center in West Des Moines on January 14, 2009. She was 89 years old.

She was born on December 2, 1919, in Lyons, Iowa and was the 2nd of two daughters born to Levert and Alma Dolson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothea, in 2008.

Marie will be remembered for her love of animals especially the exotic pets...four monkeys...that she cared for and her 'sense of style'. She was admired for her ability to raise three boys after her husband was called to duty in the Pacific and later in Korea.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years; Dr. Richard E. Paul, also an Arbor Springs resident; her three sons, David B. (Deb) of Baxter, MN, Bruce D. (Mary Ann) of Odessa, FL, Doug (Gayle) of Weaverville, NC and seven grandchildren.

The body will be cremated. A private service will be held.
