Geraldine Stefani died January 13, 2009, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009, at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial on Tuesday at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Geraldine was born in Des Moines on August 4, 1923, to Dominic and Guiditta Nizzi and worked as a kitchen manager with the Des Moines Public Schools. She was a charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church and served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed watching all types of sports, playing cards and volunteering at the senior center. She especially loved spending time with her grandsons.

Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Judy Stefani of Des Moines, Gloria Stefani of Des Moines, JoAnn (Michael) Lyons of Grayslake, IL; grandsons, Matthew, Paul and Patrick Lyons.

She was preceded in death by husband, Edward; brothers, Londy, Lay, Cherry, Art, Frank, Mick; sisters, Peppy, Maddie and Chia.
