Linda Kay (Medberry) Flanders, 57, passed into heaven, January 13, following a two year battle with ovarian cancer.

Memorial services will be held January 24, at 11 a.m. at Elgin Lutheran Church, 405 Franklin St., Elgin, Iowa. Her ashes are to be cast upon the family farm June 14, the anniversary of her birth.

Linda was born 1951 to Glen and Verna Medberry. She grew up on her family's farm in the beautiful rolling hills of NE Iowa near the Mississippi River. She graduated from Wartburg College with a degree in sociology. Working as a letter carrier for the United States Postal service for 23 years, she loved her work, her patrons, and her fellow workers. Her career began at the Des Moines, IA Morgan Street Annex and continued on to Salida, CO; Mesa, AZ; and Santa Maria, CA where she retired. She and her husband Marv lived their dreams while living in and traveling the southwestern U.S., CA, and MX.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Marvin of Tucson, AZ; son, Fred Weigel, Ames, IA; daughter Anna Wiegel, Des Moines, IA; stepson Jeremy Flanders of Boulder, CO; stepdaughter, Allison (Flanders) Berber, Des Moines, IA; granddaughter, Dava Wiegel; step grandson, Benjamin Berber; parents, Glen and Verna (Gross) Medberry; sister, Polly (Bruce) Pattison; brother, Rob (Dawn) Medberry; and many nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
