Eldon Bailey, 87, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Calvin Community in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Eldon grew up in the Indianola and Des Moines areas, graduating from North High School. His career was spent in retail sales at Thom McAn and later at Montgomery Ward where he was known as "Mr. Montgomery Ward" of Des Moines. Eldon enjoyed traveling and gardening but his passion was spending time with his grandchildren.

Eldon is survived by his daughter, Carol (Marlin) Reimer of Brownsburg, IN, his grandchildren, Mark (Shari) Reimer of Flower Mound, TX and Sara Reimer of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Brilan and Bax Reimer, sister, Maxine Ruble of Des Moines, sister-in-law, Emily Jean McGuire of Topeka, KS and his close friend, Joyce Squires of Kansas City, KS.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Bailey.
