Wade burial in Des Moines

John Trace Wade, who died Wednesday, June 8, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, will be buried at a later date in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines following cremation.

The funeral service for Wade, 78, of 308 E. Broadway Ave., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Family visitation will be 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Wade was born Aug. 22, 1909, in Dorchester, Neb., the son of Franklin and Mabel Omanson Wade. He married Isabell A.Carson Sept. 5, 1942. She died July, 1973.

He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Wade was a seed warehouseman for Yeager Seed Company in Fairfield and in 1955 he began working for Rauscher Seed Company in Lockridge until his retirement in 1975.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as past deacon. He also was a member of American Legion Post No. 47.

Wade is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Simser, St. Paul, Minn., and Jane Campagna, Davenport; one son, Frank Wade of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandsons; and one sister, Nellie Morris of Fairfield. In addition to his wife, Wade was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ollie and three brothers, George, Fred and Grant.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.
