Grandville H. Wheeler, 76, was born September 10, 1936 to Grandville E. and Carrie M. Wheeler. He passed away at his home on his 76th birthday, September 10, 2012.

Grandville married Ruth Crane on March 4, 1967, and she preceded him in death in May of 1999. Also preceding him in death are his parents and 5 siblings.

Grandville is survived by his two children, Grant (Robyn) Wheeler of Des Moines and Mary (Roy) Shortt of Waterloo, IA; four grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Steven and Jacob; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Grandville was a retired Security Guard from Pioneer Hi-Bred, where he worked for over 30 years.

A graveside service in his honor will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston on NW Beaver Drive across from the Hyperion Field Club. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines.
