Teresa P. Couch died peacefully on December 29, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House surrounded by her loving family.
Teresa was born on March 20, 1945, to Paul and Rita Murphy and she married David Couch on June 27, 1964. A 1963 graduate of Tech High School, Teresa worked as an administrative assistant for churches and advertising firms and for the Catholic Diocese of Des Moines for several years.
Teresa was devoted to her family and was very proud of her children, Mark Couch of Denver and Melissa McDermott, and her grandchildren, Hannah McDermott, Megan McDermott and Samuel Couch.
A member of Lutheran Church of the Cross, she had a strong faith and trust in God and inspired many with good humor and courageous yearlong bout with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Patrick, who died at birth.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 1, 2010 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Grandview Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Cross on Saturday. January 2, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, to Hospice of Central Iowa or to Lutheran Church of the Cross.
