Samuel F. (Sam) Fazio passed away on March 15, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday March 19 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 18 at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel, where a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
Sam was born May 1, 1934 to Mary and Sam Fazio in Des Moines, Iowa. He owned Fazio Brokerage Company and volunteered his time and talents at St Anthony’s Catholic Church as business Manager. Sam was an Ambassador to Catholic Charities and a member of the Society of Italian Americans, Dowling Guild and the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and past Grand Knight.
Sam enjoyed traveling, fine dining and music. He played the saxaphone and led a Des Moines area band in the 1950’s.
Sam will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Tish; one daughter, Mary Fran (john) Cardamone; three grandchildren, Natalie, Sammy and Christina; two sisters, sue Marasco and Evelyn Caligiuri; and one brother, Ed Fazio. He was preceded in death by his son Sammy Joe.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Foundation.
