John “Jack” Greene, 64, of 875 N. W. 45th Place died Dec. 31, 1998 of a brain hemorrhage Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St Ambrose Cathedral of which he was a member. The body will be cremated following services, and burial of the cremains will be at Hamiliton’s Crematory.
Mr. Greene, a life resident of Des Moines, had retired as maintenance supervisor for Firestone Tire and had also worked as a maintenance supervisor at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, Denice; a son Rick of Des Moines; a daughter Diane Richenbacker of California; two stepsons, Craig Phinney of Des Moines and Jason Phinney of Denton Texas; a stepdaughter, Valene Polhumus of Des Moines; two brothers George of Melcher and James of Urbandale; two sisters, Nita Kammon and Glady Spangler, both of California; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home where a rosary service will be said at 7 p.m.
