Alice L. Mihalovich, 93, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Bethany Home. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday November 15, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Chapel; 7601 Fleur Drive in Des Moines, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was born on January 29, 1912 in Manning, Iowa to Harry and Margaret (Armstrong) Porter. She graduated from Manning High School in 1930. On November 28 1970, she married Charles Mihalovich who preceded her in death on July 23, 1989. She was a former resident of Des Moines, and had worked Look Magazine in personal correspondence and calligraphy. She enjoyed calligraphy and ballroom dancing.
She is survived by three nephews, Paul (Carole) Porter of Dubuque, Bill (Janet) Porter of Cable, WI and Jack (Gladys) Porter of Dubuque. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Clarence Porter, Wilbur Porter and Mable Porter.
