“James F. Blend”

“Sevices for James F. Blend, 44, of Grimes, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, with burial in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Blend died of a heart attack at his home.

Mr. Blend was a lifelong resident of Des Moines until he moved to Grimes about 6 months. He was a painter for the West Des Moines School District and a member of St. Stephen Church.
Survivors include two sons, James F., Jr., and Steven S., both of Des Moines; a daughter , Mrs. Diane Turley of Dexter, and a grandson.
The body is at Westover Funeral Home.”

James Frederick Blend was born on August 11, 1931, son of Frederick Brackett Blend and Ethel Gertrude Richards, and departed this life on November 3, 1975. He married Phyllis Jean Northover on January 14, 1951. To this union three children were born.
