Kenny lost his courageous battle with lung cancer on May 20, 2011 at his home in Escondido, CA, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 17, 1931, at Booneville, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Hazel Lane. He grew up in the Norwalk area where he graduated from Norwalk High school in 1949. He served proudly in the Army from 1952 to 1954, and served with two of his classmates in Korea. He became well known when he played with several dance bands in the local area.

He moved to San Diego, CA, in 1956 where he met Esther Cole and they were married January 12, 1957 in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his wife, Esther; sons, Jeffrey and Phillip; and grandsons, Joshua and Caleb; brother, Jack (Madalene) Lane of Norwalk, IA; step-brothers, Bill (Maxine) Worsley, Clear Lake, IA, Dick (Paula) Worsley, Fertile, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He retired as foreman of Base Motor Transportation at Camp Pendleton, CA, and was owner of Coast Realty.

He was member of the Masons, Shrine, Elks Lodge, American Legion and VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Betty Houg. Memorial services and celebration of life will be held later.
