The funeral of James S. Hanna, forty-five years an Iowan and father of James R. Hanna, former mayor, will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. James F. Page, 605 Ovid avenue, this afternoon at 2:30.
Mr. Hanna died Sunday morning after a brief illness. He was 80 years old.
He was born in Ohio, was a member of Pike's Peak gold seeking party in the late fifties and enlisted in Company H. Fifty-seventh Illinois infantry, at the outbreak of the Civil War.
With the exception of three years (here the paper has been torn, and line is unreadable), Iowa since 1870, settling near Atlantic. For the last seven years he has made his home with his son, former Mayor Hanna of this city.
