George B. Holt Rites Thursday

Services for George B. Holt, 73, of 1319 Fifteenth St., will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hamilton funeral home, with burial in Chapel Hill cemetery.

Mr. Holt died of a stroke Tuesday morning at the Warford Convalescent home, 1521 Pleasant St. He had been ill since Apr. 5.

Mr. Holt was born in Jewell and moved to Des Moines 30 years ago from Ellsworth. He was an auto body repairman for Howard Sole, Inc., seven years, retiring seven years ago. Mr. Holt was a member of the Methodist church at Ellsworth.

Surviving are his widow, Pearl (nee Sikes); three daughters, Mrs. Iona Miller of Washington, Ind., Mrs. Elva Sweazey of San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. Effie Blanchard of Des Moines; three sons, Albert of Randall, and Lynn and Marshall, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Byron of Webster City, and Harvey of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Eunice McGonigle of Austin, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
