Betty passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010; Bethany, MO at the age of 87. She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 30, 1922 in Valley Junction, Iowa to Thomas William and Etta Almeda (Dorethy) Cox.

Betty was the thirteenth of fourteen children; she graduated from Valley Junction High School on January 10, 1941. She had worked at the Peter Pan Grocery Store in Des Moines before becoming a homemaker.

On August 18, 1956 she married Donnie Brice Pottorff in Mount Ayr, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Donnie Pottorff Sr., baby daughter Betty Ann Pottorff, grandchildren Katrina and Kristina Forbach, Brandon Titus, step-grandson Devon Pottorff, daughter-in-law Debbie Pottorff, her parents Thomas and Etta Cox, and her thirteen brothers and sisters; Thomas Henry Cox, Gerald Cox, Andrew Cox, Willard (Nellie) Cox, a baby brother, Velma Sloan, Sarah Cribben, Jesse Cox, Josephine (Grover) Titus, Morris (Priscilla) Cox, Ralph Cox, Minnie Elizabeth Cox, and Johnny Cox.

Betty is sutvived by her children: Thomas Titus, Boise, ID; Donnie Pottorff Jr., Curtis Pottorff, Victoria Brower, all of New Hampton, MO; Mary Ann (Mike) Sims, Bethany, MO; step-sons Omar (Saline) Pottorff, Urbandale, IA; Eldon (Linda) Pottorff, Pleasant Hill, IA, 13 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild and beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bethany Memorial Chapel of Bethany, MO. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., at Bethany Memorial Chapel with burial at the Lincoln Cemetery , Hatfield, MO to follow.
