Beatrice A. Howard, 85, of 1922 E. Walnut St. died of heart and respiratory ailments Thursday at Community Care Center in Winterset, where she had been two months. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Howard was born in Cincinnati and lived in Des Moines most of her life before moving to the care center two months ago. She was the retired owner and operator of Bea's Beauty Shop and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

A brother, Joe Jones of St. Charles, survives.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
