Alta M. Howard, 93, of Wesley Acres, 3520 Grand Ave., died of a heart attack Saturday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Miss Howard was born in Saylorville and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired as an office assistant for doctors Strawn, Bone, Pieson and Reed after 56 years there. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Des Moines Women's Club.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Wesley Acres.
