Arthur T. Howard, 91, of Roselle, IL., died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Illinois. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Community Christ Church in Des Moines, of which he was a member and high priest. Burial of the cremains will be at Brethren Cemetery in Dallas Center.
Mr. Howard was born in Ankeny and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to Roselle two years ago. He was a retired comptroller with Fair Play Mfg. Co. in Des Moines, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the 517th Field Artillery BN Association in Waukee. He was an avid supporter of church camps and ministry in Des Moines.
He is survived by a son, William of Hoffman Estates, IL.; two sisters, Barbara Brandt of Des Moines and Bernadene Fox of Dallas Center; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel.
A memorial gathering will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at his church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur Howard Memorial Fund at his church. Westover Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
