Ward C. Howard, 87, of Valley View Village, 2600 Avenue Frederick M. Hubbell, died of pneumonia Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Berwick Cemetery.

Mr. Howard was born in Polk County and lived in Des Moines most of his life. A World War I veteran, he was a retired mechanic and a member of the Ankeny Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include his wife, Emma, and a sister, Alta Howard of Des Moines.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Berwick United Church of Christ.
