Willard E. Anderson, 81, of 501 SE Sixth St., Ankeny, died Thursday of leukemia at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny, of which he was a member. Burial will be at the Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr Anderson was born in Huxley and farmed in Ankeny and Huxley most of his life, retiring in 1981.

Surviving are two sons, Don of Muscatine and Dick of Bellevue, NE; two brothers, Palmer of Story City and LeRoy of Huxley; a sister, Clara Rullestad of Ames; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Ankeny Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the American Cancer Society.
