ESSIE MAE HOWARD 1892 to 1965

Services for Mrs. Essie Mae Howard, 73, of near Ankeny, who died of cancer Tuesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Des Moines Valley Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Lincoln Township Cemetery at Alleman.

Mrs. Howard, who had lived all her life in the Ankeny area, was a member of the Merry Makers Club and Hickory Grove Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Moeckly of Polk City and Mrs. Lucille Holst of Logan; three sons, Lawrence of Costa Mesa, CA., John of Des Moines, and Harold of Elkhart; three brothers, James Hildreth of Des Moines and Vernon and Glen Hildreth of Ankeny; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials in the form of contributions to Des Moines Valley Church of the Brethren, of which Mrs. Howard was a member.
