DISAPPOINTED GIRL TAKES OWN LIFE

Victoria Parsley, daughter of Webster Township Farmer Suicides

Victoria Parsley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Parsley of Webster township, committed suicide in her apartment at 614 Sixth Avenue, Des Moines, on Sunday of this week. Two notes, one addressed to a friend, the other to a Des Moines newspaper stated that she had determined to end her life because of the faithfulness of D. B. Smith, a traveling man who had disgraced her and broken his promise to marry her. Miss Parsley, who was twenty three years old had been working in Des Moines for the past eighteen months. Her parents moved to this county last year. Mr. and Mrs. Parsley were notified of her sad death on Sunday, and left for Des Moines the following morning.
