S. O. Campbell, a veteran of the Civil War, and a veteran railroad man, died at his home here, Oct. 11th and was buried in St. Ambrose cemetery, Des Moines, on the 13th. The funeral services were held in the Church of the Visitation, East Des Moines. The pall bearers from this place were John McClelland, A. W. Hiatt, Chas. Tilp and Wm. Barbary.

Again death has called home one old settler, S. O. Campbell, who died early Wednesday morning, after months of suffering. For many years he was in the service of the C.G.W. as agent at this place.

He was buried in St. Ambrose cemetery Des Moines, on the 13th. Those who accompanied Mrs. Campbell and her daughter, Mrs. Samply to Des Moines with the body were: Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Hiatt and daughter, Nora; Wm. Barbary and wife, John McClelland, Chas. Tilp, S. W. Helfenstein, Mrs. E. Shearer and Maymie Frair.
