Marilyn Marie Howard, 78, formerly of Des Moines passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Marilyn was born February 2, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Nellie (Jordan) Tingle. She had lived in Des Moines most of her life until moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1994. Marilyn was an encoder for CDS. She was a member of the Walnut Creek Jehovah Witness Congregation in Des Moines and also in Corpus Christi. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, shopping and listening to music.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Jack (Shirley) Tingle of Michigan; daughter, Ronelle (Alvia) Israel of Truro; two sons, Ronald Howard of Corpus Christi, Texas and Paul (Nelda) Howard of Portland, Texas; six grandchildren, Michael Adams, Erica Helland, Melanie Israel, Clarissa Howard, Crystal Kern and Natalie Ortegon and nine great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Howard; sister, Carol Walraven and sister-in-law, Barbara Acri.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel.
