Bert Watrous Rites Are Set

Services for Bert W. (Speed) Watrous, 60, of 2111 Thirty-seventh st., who died of cancer Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens cemetery.

Mr. Watrous, a truck driver for Hoxie Fruit Co., was ill six months. Born at Coon Rapids, he lived here 54 years.

He was a square dance caller in the Des Moines area for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Local 394 of the Teamsters Union.

Surviving are his wife, Grace; three sons, Pete and Kenny Watrous of Des Moines and Bert Kisling of Marshalltown; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Stapes and Mrs. Shirley Fitzgerald of Des Moines; his mother, Mrs. Olive Pemberton, and two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Lloyd and Mrs. Dorothy Bagg, of Des Moines; two brothers, Edward of Lamas, Wash., and Joe of Des Moines, and 16 grandchildren.
