Obituary-Mrs. G.M. Wheeler

Lucy Ann Andrews, daughter of E.B. and Martha Andrews, was born March 29, 1839 in New Hampshire, and died January 4, 1924, in Ankeny.
She was taken by her parents to Ohio in 1840, and moved to Iowa in 1866, where she resided near Saylorville until 1870 when she was married to G.M. Wheeler, and moved to Kansas. After three years they moved back to Iowa and to a farm two miles south of Ankeny, where they lived 21 years. After 13 years on the Ankeny farm they moved to Ankeny where she resided until the time of her death.

Four children were born to this union, three now living. Nettie Mae, died when six years of age. The three surviving her are Samuel T., of Ankeny, Mrs. Mary D. Meyer, of Des Moines, and Fred T., of Ankeny.

Mrs. Wheeler was one of nine children, three of whom are now living, George Andrews of Los Angeles, California, Moses B. Andrews of Oklahoma and David Andrews of Omaha, Nebraska.
Besides these she leaves 14 grand children and 8 great grand children, and a host of long time friends and acquaintances to mourn her death.

She was a member of the M.E. church at Ankeny, where the funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, January 6, conducted by Rev. McDade and Rev. Anderson. Burial was made in the Oralabor cemetery.

The bereaved relatives and friends have the sympathy of her large host of friends and acquaintances.
