Ruth Amy (Riddle) Ackelson, 82, of Indianola, IA passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 7, 2009. She was born April 20, 1927 in Des Moines, IA to James and Adah Riddle. Ruth was married to Robert L. Ackelson, Sr. for 48 years having three children, Floyd James, Ardis Diann, and Robert Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and son, "Jim". Survivors include daughter, Ardis Diann Cichon; son, Robert L. Jr.(Merlene); sister, Helen (Don) Maples; brother, Kenneth, all of Indianola; brother, Glen H.(Marsha) of AZ; grandsons, RJ, Merle and Michael; granddaughter, Christina (Edward) Waeltz; and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kaylee of CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Her hobbies included cooking, flowers, reading, shopping, her family, friends, and dachshund, Toby. Ruth was a member of Indianola Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses. Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 2 p.m. on So. K St. in Indianola (by Fareway). Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
