C, Genevieve Bell, 97, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the church with a rosary to follow. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Genevieve was born February 17, 1912, the daughter of Frances and John Wieland in Des Moines, where she was a life long resident. Genevieve retired in 1971 as Assistant Secretary of Dial Finance Company (now Wells Fargo Financial). She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and Lay Carmelites.

Genevieve is survived by many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Marty Wieland of Windsor Heights. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wally Bell; five sisters, Lenore Toothman, Hortense McDonald, Dorothy Harden, Virginia Stoner and Lois Hoover and a brother, John C. Wieland.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Theresa Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
