William "Bill" Kelley, Jr. 62, made his transition from this earthly world to his heavenly reward on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. He wa born on October 5, 1943 in Baltimore Maryland and grew up on the Eastern Shore. After attending the University of Maryland (Fear the Terps) for two years, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Montana, Europe and Vietnam. As a Staff Sergeant, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation for Meritorious Service while stationed at Da Nang Air Field. Bill Also served as an aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.

Bill is survived bu his wife of 17 1/2 years, Marilyn (Midlestadt) Kelley, currently of Bondurant, Iowa. Bill and Marilyn moved to Iowa in 2001 from Great Falls, Montana. Bill is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Garn Wanner of Great Falls; four grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Jayson and Katelyn Wanner; a stepson, Rick Cook of Fort Benton, Montana; sister, Jeanne (Rick) Geibel; brother, Jon (Grace) Kelley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Altoona United Methodist Church, Altoona, Iowa. Scattering of Bill's Ashes will be at a later date in Fort Benton, Montana. Memorial Contributions are suggested the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
