Des Moines Register, April 6, 1975, Section A, Page 11, Column 3: Services for Louis Adam Halden, 64, of 3214 Hull Ave., who died Friday at his home of cancer, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Grandview Funeral Home with burial at Oak View Cemetery at Albia. A native of Centerville, Mr. Halden had lived in Des Moines for 36 years. He was a zoning officer for the City of Des Moines and established and operated the Capitol Coal Co. here from 1939 to 1951. He was a member of the Moingona Masonic Lodge No. 633, DeNova Chapter of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 546, Des Moines Municipal Employees Association and the Employees Joint Council. He was also a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Delta; a daughter, Mrs. James (Judy) N. Howard of Romeo, Mich.; a son, Hal Halden of Houston, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Harold Simmons of Creston; four brothers, Robert of Moville, Edgar of Chariton, Wayne of Ottumwa and Jack of Roselle, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
