Flossie Edrabelle Hanke, 96, formerly of Des Moines, deid Monday, August 23, 2004 at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Glendale. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Monday, August 30 at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. No visitation is planned.

Flossie Reiland Hanke was born on October 16, 1907 in Livonia, Missouri. She graduated from Open Bible College in Des Moines and married Don Hanke on March 22, 1926 in Polk Cunty, Iowa. She was a resident of Des Moines for 40 years and Glendale for 40 years.

Survivors are seven grandchildren, Mark Hanke of Urbandale, Faith Dailey of St. Petersburg, FL, Keith Hanke of Grimes, Melody Hooper of Peoria, AZ; and Steven Hanke, Scott Hanke and Cathy O'Brien, all of Glendale, AZ; 24 great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Donald Nelson Hanke, Sr.; two sons, Donald Jr. and Keith; grandson, Donald Nelson III; five sisters and one brother. ~ Des Moines Register (Iowa) August 29, 1004, page 4B, col 6.
