E. Brewster Rites Monday, Methodist Church in Laurens

E. E. Brewster, 76, a resident of the Laurens community for 51 years, died at his home about midnight last Friday. Mr. Brewster suffered a stroke last December and his health continued to fail.

Last rites were conducted at First Methodist Church at 2 p. m. Monday, following a family service at Hitchcock Funeral Home at 12:30 p. m. The Rev. Robert D. Butler, Methodist Church pastor, officiated. A men's quartet composed of Don Dallenbach, E. E. Dubbert, Elmer Larson and Clarence Morgan sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "God Will Take Care of You". Mrs. Willis Godfrey was accompanist. Burial was in the Laurens cemetery. Serving as pall-bearers were Roy Rubel, LeRoy Bowman, Vernon Gulbranson, Evert Tussing, Gale Peterson and Gene Osier.

Born at Woodbine

Ethan Elbert Brewster, son of William and Lydia Ann Brewster, was born at Woodbine, Oct. 24, 1882. On Sept. 20, 1905, he was united in marriage to Belle Belden at Rodney, and to this union were born three sons and two daughters. One daughter, Lydia, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Belle; three sons, LeRoy of Newell, Paul of Laurens and Elbert of Des Moines; one daughter, Iva Faye (Mrs. Harold Hakeman) of Hedrick; three granddaughters; three grandsons; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends
