Death claims Mrs. Bridget Huston at age 74

Mrs. Bridget Huston, one of the well known and highly respected residents of this county, passed away at her home northeast of Fonda last Thursday morning at age 74. Mrs. Huston’s Death followed an illness of several months duration during which her had the tender care of her family.
Funeral services were held this morning at 9:00 with a Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Good Council Church in Fonda, and the remains were laid to rest beside those of here husband in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Bridget Gilmore was born in Rochester, New York on Sept. 28, 1855, and died Tuesday morning, Sept. 17, 1929. When a child of 5 years, she moved with her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Thomas Gilmore, to Shenandoah IA. She was married to Patrick Huston on February 13, 1877
At Hamburg IA. They started housekeeping on a farm at Raritan IL and in the spring of 1902,moved to the farm in Cedar Twp, where she has since made her home most of the time and where Mr. Huston died on January 17, 1918. The deceased was the mother of 8 children, 5 of whom survive, as follows: Mrs. Kate Reedy of Phillip South Dakota; Mrs. Frances Reedy of Bingham lake, Minn; Chris, who farms the home place; Hugh of Fonda; Mrs. Lucy Lilly of Pasadena, Calif. Three children preceeded their mother in death: Mary, who died in infancy;
Thomas, who died at the age of thirteen; and James, who passed away August, 27, 1924. She also leaves to morn her three brothers: James Gilmore, of Shenandoah; George Gilmore of Council Bluffs; and Joe of Shanghai, China; also twenty-two grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Huston was a kind and loving mother and her first thoughts were of God and her loved ones. She had been a patient sufferer for the past seven months, and last Wednesday she suffered a stroke from which she never rallied and answered God’s call on Tuesday morning.
