Obituary of Patrick Huston

Patrick Huston, who died at his home north of town on January 29th from a complication of bronchitis and heart trouble from which he had been complaining for the past four years, was born in Co. Meath Ireland March 17th , 1846 and was 69 years old at the time of his death. He married Bridget Gilmore at Shenandoah IA February 13th, 1877. Besides the widow there remains to morn his loss the following children: Chris and James Huston, who are at home; Hugh Huston, a soldier from Fort Leavenworth, who was home to attend the funeral, Mrs. James Reedy of Winthrop, Mrs. Dan Reedy and Mrs. Phillip Lilly of Fonda, and two brothers, Micheal and John of Roritan IL. He came to Fonda in 1888 and resided here until 1902 when he moved on his farm north of town which place he lived until the time of his death. He was a member of the Catholic church and the funeral was held from the church Friday morning at 9:30. Fr. Heelan had charge of the service. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Reedy of Winthrop, Thomas and George Gilmore of Imogene and Mr. Gilmore of Shenandoah and Hugh Huston from Fort Leavenworth.
