Funeral services were held Thursday, May 29 at the United Methodist Church for Dean Gallup, 42, who died unexpectedly May 27.(1969) Burial was in Summitt Hill Cemetery. Rev. Max Paige officiated. Casketbearers were Carl Hood, Richard Vosida, Harold Schaeffer, Howard Luft, Mark Kelly, and Jack Donahue. A native of Edelstein, Ill., he was born July, 3, 1936 and was graduated from Princeville, Ill., High School. He was married Feb. 12, 1950 at Peoria, Ill., to Doris Bechtel. After farming at Edelstein with his father until 1953, they came to Pocahontas and have since engaged in farming northwest of Pocahontas. Survivors include his widow; three children, Steven, Cynthia and Craig at home; a brother Dwight of Edelstein, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs Emerson (Irene) Sutton of Gilmore City and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Moore of Aurorra, Colo.
