Carrie V. Hahn

Carrie V. Hahn, 96, Cedar Falls, a former Hinton are resident, died Tuesday (Oct. 4, 1988) at Satori Memorial Hospital at Cedar Falls.

A service will be held at 2 p.m, Friday at Western Home Chapel, Cedar Falls.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at Merrill Melbourne United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetary under direction of the Richardson Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be at the Church prior to the service.

The former Carrie V. Streyffeler was born Nov. 4, 189l, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Sherk Streyffeler. She grew up and was educated at Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Western Union (now Westmar) College in 1914 with a bachelor of arts degree. In 1915, she received a second bachelor of arts degree at Coe College, Cedar Rapids. She then taught school in Iowa and South Dakota.

She was united in marriage to Henry Hahn , June 29, 1927, in LeMars. The couple farmed many years near Hinton. Mr. Hahn died Jan. 4, 1968.

Survivors are a son, Rev. Samuel Hahn of Hampton; and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Vogt of Wahoo,
Neb.; two brothers, Harlan Streyffeler of Lakewood, Calif., and Ralph Streyffeler of Hubbard; three sisters, Myrtle Heidenreich of Boise, Idaho, Beulah Hindman of Deer Park, Wash., and Ruth DeJong of Orange City; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and six brothers and sisters.
